So many brides today are steering away from the generic reception venue centrepieces and designing their very own look to tie in with their over all theme for the day.  This could be done by hiring a decorator / props person but some enjoy the “hunt” of sourcing their own special pieces to put together their very own look for their tables. Scouring vintage and second hand stores including online sellers has become increasingly popular but often finding the perfect… Read more »

I’m feeling rather inspired by this up and coming grooms look – the cotton patterned tie.  Recently I discovered a wonderful (and can you believe it – Brisbane based!!!) etsy business that sews nothing but cotton ties and bow ties in the most gorgeous patterns – Marcello Neckwear.  Unfortunately they couldn’t make it to the fair but I’m keen to show off their wares!! As some of you know I dabble in making men’s ties but I get so darn… Read more »

I have a secret love-hate relationship with beaded flowers.  I absolutely love the look of them and have tried (albiet momentarily) to create some myself but have just ended up with beads all over the floor and a lot of swearing at the pieces of wire that were starting to look nothing like the gorgeous inspiration piece! For all of you who are just like me – love the look of beaded flowers and bows but don’t have the time… Read more »

I love to share different ideas for dressing your bridesmaids.  This is one of the biggest stresses in planning a wedding as traditional bridesmaid dresses really just aren’t practical for bridesmaids to ever wear again, yet many bridesmaids are asked to pay for their own outfit. Another of my great solutions for this battle is the two piece bridesmaid outfit – bridesmaids in skirts and cute tops that can be worn again together or separately and in some cases can… Read more »

I just stumbled across this gorgeous idea…. bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses made from seersucker!! What a gorgeous look for a simple rustic style wedding.  For those of you scratching your head asking “what is seersucker?” – seersucker is a cotton fabric, traditionally with either a stripe or checkered pattern that is lovely and lightweight for summer clothing and has a slight pucker in it.
