It’s so lovely working with brides from all over Australia!  I recently had the lucky job of creating a custom lace tea length wedding dress for a bride who was married over in Perth!  I know I say this a lot but I completely fell in love with her gown – and I just may copycat the design should I ever renew my vows in the future!! (sorry Leah!!)

Leah recently shared some fabulous images of her wedding day captured by Photography by Emma Pointon (love her work!!) and they are here for you all to enjoy today!

The details of her custom Silver Sixpence wedding dress:

Leah’s gown has an all over chantilly lace overlay, using one of my favourite lace designs and instead of using the scallop edging, all of the edges were machine finished giving a bit of a sharp, tailored look.  Her bodice has lovely 3/4 sheer lace sleeves and a sweetheart under bodice underneath the soft lace layer – this creates a really soft, feminine line to the design.

To give that quintessential 50s look her dress features a full circle skirt and around the waist is a silk sash which really emphasises her little waist!

Not every bride is after a super full tea length skirt, and we went with the less full petticoat option under her gown which is just perfect in my opinion.

Apart from loving her dress (naturally!), I absolutely adore her bridesmaids shoes and I also love the fact that their bridal party included a “groomsmaid”.  It’s wonderful to see couples shaking up the old fashioned traditions when it comes to weddings and having a mixed bridal party which truly reflects their close friends.
