It was such an absolute pleasure working with my recent bride, Kate, to create her lace and polka dot tea length wedding dress.

When she came to visit Silver Sixpence she fell in love with the design of the Cherry Blossom gown but wanted to add a layer of lace over the top to soften it and give more of a romantic feel.  It was really important for her that the capped sleeves featured a delicate lace scallop and we chose a gorgeous chantilly lace for this.  The bodice of her gown still featured the fabric covered buttons just as the original Cherry Blossom design has, however she wanted a more full tea length skirt.

Kate’s skirt was a full circle skirt with layers of soft tulle and then a final layer of dotted tulle over the top.  To be honest I did have a moment of hesitation as we worked through the design as I’ve never put lace and polka dots together but when the fabrics came together it was just gorgeous.  To break up the two patterns her gown features a fabric covered belt around the waist.

A special thank you to Jess Jackson Photography who captured such stunning images of Kate and her little family!
