Boy do I have some lovely brides! One of my favourite brides for 2016 tied the knot recently and I must admit there were tears and hugs shared on the last day that I saw her as our time working together had come to an end.
Melbourne based bride, Jane, trepidatiously travelled up to visit me to chat about her custom bridal gown. She knew that she wanted something different yet something very special and that a traditional ivory gown was not for her and the entire wedding dress concept was starting to overwhelm her. Deciding on a wonderfully unique colour named “carnation”, which is quite a deep pink, we then chose to soften it ever so slightly with a blush silky tulle overlay over the entire gown and the result was amazing (even if I do say so myself!!). We had so much fun working through this unique wedding dress together and I’m so very excited to share some images taken by Donegan Photography of her looking and feeling fantastic on her special day.
Her gown was a ballerina length which finishes about ankle height – a detail which was important as her wedding took place at Gum Gully Farm in Silvan, Victoria. With such a rustic location we were concerned that a floor length gown would be getting caught in the grasses and timber everywhere and this also allowed Jane to show off her fabulous shoes.
The top of her gown featured a pleated surplice neckline and a fitted midriff to accentuate her waist, then to finish it off the sleeves were cute little capped sleeves.
As well as her gorgeous gown I also created a custom beaded flower hair comb for her to wear, the blush yet almost brassy colour of the beads suited her hair and the colour of her gown perfectly as it added a little touch of sparkle without being too much of a stand out accessory.
Thank you Jane for allowing me the honour of working with you on your gown, it was such a wonderfully memorable time for me and I wish you every happiness!!!
