What a busy last few months it’s been! I’ve realised it’s been weeks since I had the chance to share any of my lovely recent brides!!
Well today is the day for a little share of one of my recent custom gowns. Jacquie was after something a little special and unique for her wedding dress, without it being over the top. It was also important for her that it was a dress that she could have the option to wear again (which is such a sensible thing and also makes special occasions all the more special when it’s your wedding dress you can wear again!)
After working through designs and fabrics together Jacquie loved the design of my Rear Window dress, but instead of the strong black and ivory she chose a gorgeous gold silk brocade on the bodice and a champagne skirt. We also used a soft silky tulle over the skirt which is a lot less bulky than regular tulle and added such a lovely extra layer to the skirt.
As Jacquie is a petite bride we decided that a petticoat would be too much, and instead she simply had a full circle skirt in a tea length which gave more than enough fullness and had a lovely swoosh as she walked.
To complete the look I also created a unique waistband detail with swarovski crystals and pearls in a single layer. This is a really sweet accessory option for those wanting just a hint of sparkle without being over the top. The beadwork was then attached to ribbon at the back so it can be easily tied around the waist.
