Now this recent commission was one of those lovely coincidences where Emma was on the hunt for a tea length wedding dress and found my website, to then realise that we know each other. Sometimes it’s such a small world, which always makes the process all the more special!
Emma chose a design which was a combination of my Dottie dress and my 1954 Oscars Polka Dot Dress. Her gown was made in ivory dupion silk with a fine ivory polka dot tulle overlay throughout the gown and I hand made bias binding trim for the neckline and arms from the same dupion silk as the main part of the dress.
Just to add to the excitement, as Emma is Irish, her wedding took place back home in Ireland! It can be a daunting notion, taking a wedding dress on an international flight, but I work with a large number of brides who marry abroad so I’m always filled with advise to make the trip a lot more smooth.
The gorgeous shots of Emma & Paul were captured by Finn Mooney Photography and I also want to point out her amazing shoes which you can see a peek of in some of the ceremony shots – these are Irregular Choice shoes and well worth checking out if you are after something a little unique but with a vintage feel for your wedding day shoes!
