Jessie was searching for a feminine
vintage inspired bridal gown for her countryside
wedding. The picture on the left was the overall
style that she wanted - something light and floaty with
a layer of fine lace over the entire dress and little
capped sleeves.
Directly below is a picture of the
skirt that she had in mind - a light weight satin with a
tulle lace which was slimline but with a small sweep
train at the back.
Jessie also loved the look of the cut
out lace on the sleeve of the gown below a little
further. She wanted this cut out shape of the lace
to be featured on the edge of her capped sleeves.

Jessie chose a
blush pink silk satin for the under layer of her gown
and found a gorgeous embroidered lace with blush shades
through it to match perfectly.
The satin layer of
the gown featured a strapless bodice with a lace v-neck
bodice over the top. As the motifs on the lace
were spaced apart quite a bit the bodice features
several more motifs that were all hand sewn in place and
a hand sewn lace trim around the neckline.
To create the look
Jessie wanted for her sleeves the lace was hand trimmed
to expose the edges of the motifs.

Ella & her mum
came to me with some pictures of gorgeous Marchesa gowns
as her inspiration for her formal gown.

She loved the
sweeping criss-cross design of the beaded bodice on the
gown to the above for her bodice and a full floaty
chiffon skirt like the gown on the right.

images below for more detail)

As
Ella is blonde and tanned she wanted a gown with gold &
champagne hues. Her bodice was made from gold
beaded trim and the chiffon was two layers - one with a
hint of gold and the other a champagne to create the
perfect colour for her.
Originally Ella had
hoped to find wide beaded trim for her bodice just like
the first inspiration picture but she just couldn't find
the right shade so instead the bodice was constructed
from almost 20 metres of thin beaded trim all hand sewn
together to give the illusion of the two criss-crossing
sweeps across the bust.
Although Ella wanted
a full skirt with layers of floaty chiffon she didn't
want bulky gathering under her bust so the chiffon
layers were made as a circle skirt. Underneath the
chiffon was a layer of champagne silk satin. Ella
decided on an asymmetrical hem for her gown so her
strappy shoes could peek through the bottom.
Ella looked
absolutely stunning in her formal gown on the night!!
